Five on Friday: Workout Music

Hello, and happy Friday!  I’m linking up for another Five on Friday, but doing something different this week.

As I’ve mentioned {at least 100 times now}, I’m spending more time at the gym trying to get my butt back in shape. Because I get incredibly bored when I’m working out solo, my new tactic is to keep myself entertained through good, energizing workout music.

So far it is helping!  Here are five of my recent favorites.

ONE. Love Me Again” by John Newman. Super hipster, but this song has an awesome beat and I can’t help but pushing myself a bit harder when it comes on.


TWO. Burn” by Ellie Goulding. She’s the jam. Such a unique voice, and did you know she was the only artist to perform at William and Kate’s wedding reception?


THREE. Applause” by Lady Gaga. She’s a bit of a crazy head, but this song is PERFECT for working out.


FOUR.Best I Ever Had” by Gavin DeGraw. He’s one of my favorite, ever since he came to my college to perform {before he was such a big deal}. He’s also a good ol’ Virginia boy. Can’t go wrong.

FIVE. Last but certainly not least, “What Now” by Rihanna. A great recovery song. One of the spin classes I went to last week played this song last, and I fell in love. Her voice is crazy awesome.

If you haven’t already, checked out iTunes new radio feature, which makes it super easy to listen to any kind of music free of charge. It is equally easy to download the songs that you like directly from the radio, which is dangerous for the wallet.
